Liar, Liar, Paris On Fire

Liar, Liar, Paris On Fire

Before attempting to understand this strip, watch this.

'Paris is Burning' is all about the underground 'balls' where transgenders compete in different categories, One of which is 'Realness'. The winner is the guy who is most likely not to be spotted as a man down the street (or in  Harlem 1980s terms: the guy most likely to cross the street wearing a dress and not get beaten up). Some of those guys are very feminine looking and have all the right moves, but there is very little in the film about the whole penis issue: do you lose points if something pops out coincidently? Is it tucked/glued/tied somewhere to not interfere with the break-gay-dancing? Maybe it's like an unspoken agreement, like the one between audience and the guys working the puppets in a puppet show where you just suppose to ignore the background movement.
Sorry, please carry on.
