I was so preoccupied by the surgery and recovery that I completely forgot about my new foot. The doctor said that my toe will grow new skin around my now smaller nail, and so in a way the process of taking the dressings off was like an unveiling after a plastic surgery. Both Noam and I knew that my toe isn't completely healed and prepared ourselves for the worst. My toe was unveiled, and quickly redressed, if only to hide the monstrosity that is my foot. I should be fine in a couple of months, but for now I will keep my toe away from children and pregnant women.
